Our Society has been working with the Victor Harbor Visitor Centre, Fleurieu Marine Life, Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries, downunderpix and several individuals to produce a folding brochure about SA’s seadragons. The brochure has now been branded as a joint venture between the Marine Life Society of South Australia and Fleurieu Marine Life.

A small print run of the brochure will be available for distribution at the Victor Harbor Whale Festival on Saturday 10/6/23, and the brochure will be available for visitors to the Victor Harbor Visitor Information Centre soon. The brochure has been posted on our website.

The Victor Harbor Visitor Information Centre receives a high number of enquiries about seadragons, questions such as “Where can I see a Seadragon?”.

Downunderpix’s Paul Macdonald, Steve Jones, Louise Morton, Wayne Leifert, EMS’s Carl Charter and Tim Rogers all provided photos for the brochure.

Our thanks go to these photographers, plus any others who submitted their photos for the brochure. Our thanks also go to the Victor Harbor Visitor Centre, Fleurieu Marine Life, Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries, downunderpix and the individuals that assisted in the production of the brochure, especially Roslyn Shirlaw who laboriously put the whole thing together despite multiple challenges.

  1. No concern whatsoever Steve, because as you know I said at the last MLSSA meeting I don’t have any adequate (higher quality) seadragon photos taken in the Encounter Bay area, only ones from other parts of SA. But I couldn’t find the ‘header photo taken by Dave Muirhead ‘ anywhere in this article.
    Just curious .
