The Port Adelaide Anchor Trail is a maritime heritage project led by the Marine Life Society of South Australia and made possible thanks to a Place-making grant from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
The Port Adelaide Enfield Council has added all the anchors on the Port Adelaide trail to their new visitor app. The Port Adelaide Anchor Trail page in the Walking Trail section of the app provides details about the trail, a map of the Lefevre Peninsula with anchor locations, and photos of each of the anchor sites.
An (updated) online trail guide is available at Port Adelaide Anchor Trail Guide 4th Edition.
A printed trail guide is available at a variety of venues (listed below) along the trail. The guide contains details of the 15* sites where 19 historic anchors can be found and viewed in a wide variety of settings.
* (The anchor shown above was relocated at the end of 2023.)
The anchor sites can either be visited over a period of two or more hours, depending on the mode of transport, or they can be visited a few at a time until all of the sites have been seen.
Old printed copies of the guide will still show another anchor that has since been stolen from the site at Dockside Storage. Please ignore that particular site.
This is what you will still see along the trail (apart from the anchor previously at North Parade, Port Adelaide): –
