This (Admiralty Pattern) stocked anchor is located out the front of North Haven Marine, Shop 1, 23 Alexa Rd, North Haven: –

It is 1.36m long and the arms have a total width of 1.09m. It is said to have come from the fireboat on the Port River.

The 20m-long fireboat (Emergency Response Vessel) ERV Gallantry was officially launched on 14th April 1994. It is operated by the SA Metropolitan Fire Service.

It was due to be replaced in 2024 because it has a 30-year replacement program. This, however, does not appear to have occurred as at 28/12/24, the day that I took this photo: –

I was able to re-visit North Haven Marine that same day and discover that the anchor had now been painted and displayed in a tidy garden bed: –

This is how the anchor had looked for something like the past few years: –

The anchor now looks much better and I thanked the staff at North Haven Marine and congratulated them on a job well done.

Here are a couple of close-up shots of the newly painted anchor at North Haven Marine: –

The anchor is designated anchor #1 on our Port Adelaide Anchor Trail. An (updated) online trail guide pdf is available at Port-Adelaide-Anchor-Trail-Third-Edition-2023- A4

I found this photo of the ERV Gallantry by Langdon Hamlyn at ERV GALLANTRY (MMSI: 503043440) Ship Photos | AIS MarineTraffic: –

It clearly shows the current anchor being used by the vessel at the bow.
