Port Adelaide Anchor Trail

The Port Adelaide Anchor Trail is a maritime heritage project lead by the Marine Life Society of South Australia and made possible thanks to a Place-making grant from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.

An (updated) online trail guide is available at Port-Adelaide-Anchor-Trail-Second-Edition-2023- A4. A printed trail guide is available at a variety of venues (listed below) along the trail. The guide contains details of the 14* sites where 18 historic anchors can be found and viewed in a wide variety of settings.

* (The anchor shown above has been relocated and should be accessible to the public by the end of 2023.

The anchor sites can either be visited over a period of two or more hours, depending on the mode of transport, or they can be visited a few at a time until all of the sites have been seen.

Old printed copies of the guide will still show another anchor that has since been stolen from the site at Dockside Storage. Please ignore that particular site.

This is what you will still see along the trail (apart from the “North Parade” anchor): –
