The Port Adelaide Anchor Trail is a maritime heritage project lead by the Marine Life Society of South Australia and made possible thanks to a Place-making grant from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. The project was initiated by Steve Reynolds and realised with Dan Monceaux, with extra support from Force of Nature.
The printed trail guide is available at a variety of venues along the trail and contains suggested walking, driving and cycling trails to connect visitors and Port Adelaide locals with their deep and rich maritime heritage. The first edition contains details about 15 sites where historic anchors can be found and viewed in a wide variety of settings.
Guided walking tours, weekly during November 2020
Steve Reynolds, a long-term resident of Port Adelaide and President of the Marine Life Society of SA, will lead a 2-hr walk along a small section of the Port Adelaide Anchor Trail. Three of the fifteen sites from the trail will be visited, and other nearby sites will be pointed out. Details of the anchors and other aspects of maritime heritage interest will be discussed during this wheelchair-friendly walk.
