ANCHOR TRAIL UPDATE No.3

By Steve Reynolds

I was able to promote our Port Adelaide Anchor Trail at the Merchant Navy Day ceremony held in Port Adelaide on 3rd September 2020. A framed copy of the trail guide was displayed during the ceremony and copies of the guide were available to people attending the ceremony.

I was also able to give copies of the guide to some of the dignitaries attending the ceremony. These included City of Port Adelaide Enfield Mayor, Clair Boan, Port Adelaide MP, Susan Close and local artist Sue Smith. I also reminded Peter Christopher from the City of Adelaide clipper ship about the guide which is available from the clipper ship.

The Navigator memorial

I even discovered a new anchor whilst I was attending the ceremony. I had searched for an anchor at the Navigator memorial site in Timpson Place without success on a couple of occasions previously. I could now see one up high on a building at the site.
