Makes no sense to cull top-order predators, especially when most sharks caught in such culls are non-target species. We know very little about great whites’ life cycles. For example we have only fragmented data on their global patterns of movement social stratification, interactions w other species of free-swimming oceanic sharks, genetic diversity, vulnerability to diseases and the probability of nutritionally suboptimal dietary alterations due anthropogenic food shortages globally.
